These were custom lamps made to be as close to a particular Kyoto temple design as possible. The lamp features detailed elegant woodworking of the roof supports, known as 'kumimono' or 'tokyō' (architecture in Japanese). These take many hours to make, but are very beautiful to view, especially when lit from within!
